If you run Instagram comment-to-DM campaigns in ManyChat, you don't have to start from a blank page. CommentTap has an import helper for the two things most comment-to-DM campaigns are built on: trigger keywords and saved replies. You still recreate each campaign in CommentTap — choose a goal, set the keyword, write the DM, add the destination — and review it before launch. ManyChat is a broad multi-channel platform, and its flows can include conditions, delays, tags, integrations and several channels. Those don't convert one-to-one into CommentTap, so review each flow and check whether CommentTap supports what it does. For the comment-to-DM part, the import helper saves retyping: paste your keywords or load a .txt file, and CommentTap removes duplicates and prefills them into the campaign builder; paste a CSV with title and body columns, and your saved replies become snippets in the shared Message Library.

What switching costs
You can start on the Free plan: it includes 50 Active Contacts a month with no CommentTap branding in your DMs (landing pages on Free show “Powered by CommentTap”), so you can test the setup before choosing a paid plan. With annual billing, Starter is $84 a year ($7 a month) for 1,000 Active Contacts a month; ManyChat Essential is $168 a year ($14 a month) for 250. CommentTap has no automatic overage charges: once your monthly allowance is used, new people are not picked up by automations until it renews or you raise it with a plan upgrade or a contact pack, which you choose and pay for separately. Automations already under way are not interrupted. ManyChat charges for each additional Active Contact on paid plans (monthly billing: Essential $0.10, Pro $0.05, Business $0.025, Advanced $0.004; annual-plan rates are lower), and its overage settings let you limit or disable overages. - What can I bring over from ManyChat?
- Your trigger keywords and your saved replies. Keywords go in as a plain list or a .txt file, saved replies as a CSV with title and body columns. Copy them from your ManyChat setup into that format, then use the import page in CommentTap's settings.
- Do I have to rebuild my flows?
- You recreate each campaign in CommentTap rather than importing the flow itself. Check which parts of the original flow CommentTap supports; multi-step logic, other channels and integrations need a separate review.
- How long does migrating a campaign take?
- It depends on the campaign. A simple comment-to-DM flow — one keyword, one message, one link — is quick to recreate once your keywords and replies are imported; flows with more logic take longer to review.
