What the numbers say (annual billing)
For the three annual-plan pairs below — Starter and Essential, Growth and Pro, Business and Business — CommentTap includes at least twice the monthly contact allowance at a listed price at least 30% lower. Both products use a monthly Active Contacts allowance, but counting rules and features differ, so treat this as a comparison of published limits and prices. CommentTap has no automatic overage charges: once your monthly allowance is used, new people are not picked up by automations until it renews or you raise it with a plan upgrade or a contact pack, which you choose and pay for separately. Automations already under way are not interrupted. ManyChat charges for each additional Active Contact on paid plans (monthly billing: Essential $0.10, Pro $0.05, Business $0.025, Advanced $0.004; annual-plan rates are lower), and its overage settings let you limit or disable overages. - Can I move a comment-to-DM setup from ManyChat?
- Yes. CommentTap's import helper takes your keywords and saved replies; you then recreate each campaign in the builder and review it before launch. Multi-step flow logic isn't imported.
- Do both follow Instagram's messaging rules?
- Both connect through Meta's official API. In CommentTap, the same person can't trigger a new message in the same campaign for 24 hours, sending is paced per account, and opt-outs are honored. These safeguards reduce risk but don't guarantee delivery.
